Castillo Mayor
Castillo Mayor is a ‘walk up mountain’ (no climbing skills needed) of 2014 meters altitude in the Spanish Pyrenees.
From Revilla is immediately clear how this mountain got its name; meaning ‘Big Castle’. It seems a huge fortress. However, from the other side you walk relatively easy to the summit...
Along the way there are several beautiful viewpoints, and there is a chance to see chamois and marmots, from the ridge you have a spectacular sight on the vultures
With some physical condition it’s possible to do the hike in about 6 hours. The altitude difference is 800 meters.
