Dam of Mediano

In order to meet energy demands, Spain decided to take some radical decisions. One of them was the construction of a dam in the Spanish Pyrenees at the entrance of the entremon, in order to fill the valley between Ainsa and the Entremon with water.

A tragic decision for the residents of the village of Mediano, which was in the valley. Mediano is now not much more than only the church, which is still sticking out of the lake throughout the year.

But the tragedy has yielded a beautiful conjunction. the views over the lake, the difference between the water levels at the dam, the steeple, entremon from the dam. An excursion worth doing.
