Cueva de Hueso Santo
A walk of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours and 330 altitude meters on the flank of the mountain Peña Montañesa. The route is marked green / white and leads to 2 caves. An overhanging rock (abrigo de los Maquis) and a spectacular cave where you can 200 meters in (Cueva de Hueso Santo).
After the Spanish Civil War, these were important shelters of the Guerrilla resistance (against the Franco regime), where these so-called Maquis remained sheltered until 1952. As proof of this, a printer was found in this cave 80 years later, with which they made resistance leaflets.
In addition to a beautiful walk and an exciting and adventurous cave, this is also an important historical site for the region.
